 Christmas rubbish collections

South Cambs District Council has reviewed its operating schedule for waste collection over the 2008/09 Christmas and New Year period.  Over the festive period, collection of domestic refuse and recycling will be as normal, with adjusments for the bank holidays.  The final timetable is available on-line (www.scambs.gov.uk),  in the South Cambs Magazine and from the Contact Centre.  If you have a clinical and/or trade waste agreement you will be notified separately of any changes to the collection rota.

Your district councillor: Steve Harangozo

Comberton has been represented at the District Council since 1999 by Lib Dem Cllr Dr Steve Harangozo.  Steve serves as a member of the Housing Futures Working Group and as Chairman of the Climate Change Working Group, of which he was a founding member.  He is also the Council’s representative on Comberton Village College’s Governing Body.

Professional

Steve is a climate change scientist with the British Antarctic Survey, and as such brings valuable expertise to his climate change work on behalf of the District Council.

Local issues

As a dedicated member of the District Council’s Housing Futures Working Group, Steve has worked hard to ensure that local Council tenants in Comberton have access to the information they need in the Council’s current consultation on the future of its housing stock.

Steve has also campaigned long and hard for an improvement in local bus services, and uses Comberton’s bus service as his main means of transport.

As with other villages in the Hardwick County Division, Comberton suffers from road safety problems.  Steve says, “We need a strong, active County Councillor who could help us in improving the situation in our village.”
